CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta looks at what makes an ultramarathoner go the very long distancePosted by scott on Dec 28, 2010 in Blog | 0 comments
I already know what you're thinking, what does this have to do with Santa Barbara trails? Well, it is kind of a Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon thing. Here goes.
This is an interview with Scott Jurek, arguably one of the greatest mountain ultra runners of all time. During this interview there are photos in the background of Jurek running in the mountains. Some of the photo are credited to Luis Escobar. Escobar is a professional photographer and a race director. As a race director he has staged a number of trail mountain races. One of those races is the Santa Barbara Red Rock 40 Mile Endurance Race. That entire race takes place on Santa Barbara trails.
So there you have it. Not a lot of Santa Barbara content but an interesting look into the mind of a ultra marathon mountain runner. Enjoy!
