Fee waived this weekend for Los Padres National ForestPosted by scott on Jun 10, 2011 in Blog | 0 comments
Los Padres National Forest will offer "fee-free" days on Saturday and Sunday as part of its annual National Trail Day.
The $5 Adventure Pass fee will be waived, but a fee still will be required for certain sites such as the Santa Barbara Ranger District's Lower Santa Ynez Recreation Area.
"We do it annually to promote people to the forest and to help those who are financially strapped," said Ben Jensen spokesman of Los Padres National Forest.
Los Padres National Forest offers the fee-free days four times a year: National Trail Day; back-to-school season, Aug. 14-15; National Public Lands Day, Sept. 25; and Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
People will have the opportunity to visit the recreational area center and enjoy a day at the forest.
Those who are planning on visiting the forest should contact their local ranger for more information on current conditions.
