Community Donors Provide Grant for Jesusita Re-route
Posted by Mark Wilkinson on Sep 1, 2010 in Grants | 0 commentsFall 2010. Thanks to donations from a number of community members concerned about a dangerous slide area near the beginning of Jesusita Trail and a generous donation by a nearby property owner for the easement, SBTC has been able to construct a re-route around the slide.
Former Trails Council President Art Najera has led an effort to raise more than $3,000 for the construction of a re-route around a dangerous slide along Jesusita Trail. Not only did Art raise the funds but he was able to gain the support of nearby property owner Sofia Gallina. Mrs. Gallina provided the easement for the new route across her land.
The grant will support the Trails Council's construction of the 900-foot-long re-route as well as the cost of the engineering and surveys.
