AARP staff and volunteers are working across the country, engaging and mobilizing community residents, delivering technical assistance and expertise to local leaders and organizations, and supporting the work of the communities and states that have enrolled in the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities. The AARP Community Challenge grant program is part of the nationwide AARP Livable Communities initiative that helps communities become great places to live for residents of all ages.
2018 TIMELINE (the grant application period is now closed)
- March 21: Launch of the 2018 AARP Community Challenge
- May 16: Applications due
- June 25: Winning applicants notified by email on or around this date
- July 18: Winning grantees announced to the public (see the link, above)
- November 5: All projects must be completed
- December 3: After Action Reports due
1% for the Planet is about coming together, and they believe that forging connections between businesses and nonprofits is a critical aspect of solving the global environmental challenges we face. The nonprofit sector fills a unique and critical role, and the 1% for the Planet model and mission are focused on unleashing the incredible power that is possible when businesses support and engage with these impactful nonprofits.
