About the Contest

The goal of this competition is capturing significant moments that evoke the feel and mood along the Gaviota Coast in California. Images will be shared with community members via the online gallery for the contest and at an awards ceremony and reception in June, 2019. Copies of the winning photographs will be displayed at the event.

 

Share your best shots showing images photographed in Gaviota Coast or directly adjacent—beaches, mountains, etc., before midnight (PST) on May 1, 2019. Judging in May is by arts and photography professionals and community leaders who will select images for best of show in these five categories.

Reception and Awards

We will have a reception and exhibit on June 19, 2019 and the winners will be announced. Tickets are $10/person at the door and available online. A free beverage is included in the price of admission.

Here's How It Works

  • You always maintain the rights to your submissions.
  • By entering the contest you accept the terms of use (some use rights will be conveyed
    to Trails Council for promotional and fundraising use)
  • Share photos showing people, places, and things along the Gaviota Coast that inspire you.
  • Judged based on creativity, originality and in accordance to the theme.
  • Entry fee: $20 for up to 10 images
  • Total prize value exceeds $3,000
